Metrorex To Pay Up To RON29M To Oversee Works On New Mainline

Romania’s state-owned subway company Metrorex will pay up to 28.76 million lei (EUR7 million), net of VAT, for services to oversee construction works on a section of to a new subway mainline, which is to be functional in 2014.

Metrorex is looking to buy construction work oversight services for the 6.2-kilometer long Raul Doamnei-Eroilor subway section, which will have nine stations, and for a 1-kilometer long station, connection tunnel and depot in Valea Ialomitei.

The contract, funded from Metrorex' own sources, will unfold over 63 months, of which three months prior to the start of construction works, 48 months during construction works and 12 months after the completion of works.

Bidders are expected to deposit a RON300,000 guarantee, a list of information on similar previous experience and must have had an average turnover of at least RON55 million over the past three years.

Price will count for 60% and technical offers will count for 40% in the awarding procedure.

Bids are expected by June 20, when they will also be open.

In February, Metrorex awarded the contract to build the subway mainline to a consortium made up of Astaldi (Italy), FCC (Spain), Delta ACM and AB Construct (Romania). The Valea Ialomitei station and depot will be built by the joint-venture Max Boegl Romania-Max Bögl Germany. (EUR1=RON4.0744)
