Romania Unlikely To Have High-Speed Rail Earlier Than 2050

In a world where trains easily go beyond 300 km/h in speed, in Romania, the speed of passenger trains reaches on average 45 km/h and high-speed rail is not expected to be built earlier than 35 years from now. In this context, there is no hope for the situation to improve on the medium-term either, as the administration plans to draw up a technical project survey for high-speed rail in 5-6 years, in 2020.
