05.11.2011 By Andrei Circhelan

French-owned construction company Acvatot plans to expand its Romanian operations by taking over a local urban infrastructure constructor for at most EUR5 million.

"We are considering buying a new company that could help develop our activity in urban infrastructure construction," Acvatot general manager Francois Debergh told MEDIAFAX.

He added the takeover will most likely be complete at the end of next year at the earliest.

Acvatot, owned by French SETHA, took over Romanian Hydroservice in 2009.

The company posted sales of EUR20.7 million in 2010, where Hydroservice contributed EUR700,000. In 2009, Acvatot posted sales of EUR21.2 million.

Acvatot was founded in 1991 and it was completely taken over in 2000 by SETHA (Societe d'Etude de Travaux Hydrauliques et d'Adduction d'Eau).
