Five Years Of Crisis On Romania's Natural Gas Market

Romania's natural gas consumption fell by 8% in 2013, even lower than the level reached in 2009 - the toughest crisis year for the country's economy- and nearly 20% lower than in 2008. Payments for imported gas halved on the year in 2013, to $756 million, while the industry burnt 15% less gas than in the previous year, reads the 2013 annual report drawn up by the Romanian energy watchdog ANRE.
