Ecomaster, the ecologic services unit of Romania’s second largest oil group Rompetrol, will invest around $2 million at its industrial ecological park Ecopark in 2011, general manager Romulus Ilie said Monday.

Ecomaster will build a facility to process biohazard waste and a new storage module, with a capacity of 35,000 cubic meters.

Ecopark's total capacity is projected at around 1 million cubic meters (4 cells of 240,000 cubic meters each) and stretches over a surface of 14.5 hectares.

The first 35,000 cubic meters module was built in August 2010.

"Our client portfolio includes companies such as ArcelorMittal Galati, Timken Romania and Monbat," Ilie said.

He added the park is due for completion in approximately 7 years.

Total investments are estimated at $12 million.

Ecopark estimates to collect and treat around 30,000-40,000 tons of industrial waste per year.

The Rompetrol Group is owned by Kazakh state-owned energy company KazMunayGas.
