Rompetrol Well Services 1Q Net Profit Rises 31.5% To RON3.43M

Romanian Rompetrol Well Services (PTR.RO), a unit of the Rompetrol group, Thursday posted a net profit of 3.43 million lei (EUR840,000) in the first quarter, up 31.5% on the year, according to financial results published Thursday.

Revenue stood at RON20.27 million, up 24.6% from RON16.26 million in the first quarter of 2010. Expenditure rose 23.8% on the year to RON16.12 million, according to the company's financial report.

Rompetrol Well Services' sales rose 25.1% on the year, to RON19.2 million in January to March.

The company is 71.7% owned by The Rompetrol Group N.V. Amsterdam.

Company shares were trading early Friday at RON0.333, down 3.2% on the day. (EUR1=RON4.0842)
