A&D Pharma Investments In Anima Clinics At EUR5M

A&D Pharma, the biggest group in the Romanian pharmaceutical industry, invested around EUR5 million in the opening of four clinics and a lab in Bucharest under the Anima-brand, which employ 350 people.

"Anima Victoriei has the best results, being also the first large clinic we launched. It will celebrate one year in business in June," said Cristian Sas, Anima chief operating officer.

Last year, A&D Pharma entered the market of private healthcare services, with this as the first step the group, with EUR484.4 million turnover in the first nine months of last year (in line with the latest information available), took outside the market it had operated until that moment, namely drug wholesale, retail and promotion.

"By yearend, we want a positive operational result, with carried-out investments set to be recouped in two or three years," Cristian Sas said.

On medium term, the company plans to operate more than 20 clinics, but the list of priorities has not included any private hospital so far.
