Actavis Romania Plans 15%-20% Increase In Sales For 2011

Icelandic pharmaceutical group Actavis plans to increase its Romanian sales by 15%-20% this year, from EUR93 million in 2010, Actavis Group chief executive officer Claudio Albrecht said Tuesday.

Some 80% of Actavis Romania sales come from oncology medicine, the rest being generated by cardiovascular and central nervous system medicine.

The Actavis group holds one oncology medicine production unit in Bucharest, Sindan Pharma, which it bought for EUR147.5 million in March 2006.

The Actavis group has some 10,000 employees in 40 countries and it has posted overall sales of EUR1.7 billion last year. This year, the group targets sales of EUR2 billion.
