Drug Wholesaler Tamisa Trading Swings To Profit In 2010

05.11.2011 By Andrei Circhelan

Romanian drug wholesaler Tamisa Trading on Wednesday said it has switched to a profit of 240,000 lei (EUR58,760) in 2010, after four consecutive years of loss.

Sales rose 18% on the year in 2010, to more than RON37 million, and the company hired 100 people.

Company officials said all available financial resources will be reinvested in a new project, but no further details were provided.

The company was sold last year by businessmen Radu Tudorache and Rares Tudorache, for RON850,000 (some EUR200,000) to Angela Atanasiu and Dan Boboescu.

"The ownership change turned out to be a lucky one for Tamisa. The company - which basically invented modern drug distribution in Romania and has been in the market for 20 years - was acquired last year by Angela Atanasiu and Dan Boboescu from another drug distributor, Montero," the company noted in a news release.

The company is now 50.017% owned by Mihaela-Angela Atanasiu, while chief executive officer Daniel Boboescu holds 49.983%. (EUR1=RON4.0842)
