Zentiva Romania Sees Lower Profit In First Quarter

Zentiva Bucharest (SCD.RO), a unit of France’s pharmaceutical group Sanofi, reported net profit of 12 million lei (EUR2.7 million) for the first quarter of 2015, down 15.5% compared with RON14.2 million in the year-earlier period.

The company’s operating revenue was up 18% on the year, at RON118.2 million, from RON100.8 million in January-March 2014. The increase was fueled by the rise in net sales revenue to RON107.9 million from RON102.2 million.

Operating expenditure went also up to RON102.9 million, versus RON83.1 million in the first three months of last year.

Zentiva is listed on the Bucharest stock exchange and its shares closed up 1% Friday in a declining market.
