Lafarge Romania Posts 3.6% Annual Rise In First Quarter Sales

French Lafarge posted a 3.6% year-on-year rise in its Romania sales in the first quarter, while local volumes rose 4.7% on the year, according to the construction materials maker's financial report.

In the Central and Eastern Europe, Lafarge's cement sales rose 29.4% on the year, at constant exchange rates, to EUR115 million, while volumes rose 25.2%, to 1.7 million tons.

Lafarge operations in Romania include Lafarge Ciment Romania, Lafarge Agregate Betoane and Lafarge Arcom Gips.

Lafarge Ciment holds two cement plants and a grinding station.
