Billa Romania Invests EUR3M In Facelifts At Two Stores

Retailer Billa invested more than EUR3 million in remodeling two Romanian stores, in Bucharest and Timisoara, increasing the fresh food section by more than 70%, Billa Romania chief operating officer director Filip Cristescu said Monday.

Retailer Billa invested more than EUR3 million in remodeling two Romanian stores, in Bucharest and Timisoara, increasing the fresh food section by more than 70%, Billa Romania chief operating officer director Filip Cristescu said Monday.

"We have obtained improved functionality and we have added some 1,000 items to our offer," Cristescu said in a news release.

Fresh food covers some 45% of Billa Romania sales, which enables the company to expect increased sales in the near future, according to Cristescu.

Billa Romania is a member of the Rewe International AG group and it has a network of 55 stores nationwide.
