Danone Romania 2010 Turnover Up 10% To RON476M

Danone Romania, the local unit of French dairy maker Danone, reported turnover of 476 million lei (EUR115.4 million) in 2010, up around 10% from RON435 million in the previous year, the company said Wednesday.

Danone invested RON17 million in industrial, technological and logistics upgrades in 2010.

The company has a market share of 58% in the fresh dairies sector, 69% in the yogurt sector and of 72% in the fruit yogurt sector, according to own data.

Danone employs 740 staff in Romania.

Groupwide, Danone reported total sales of EUR17 billion in 2010. (EUR1=RON4.1233)
