Drought Wipes Off EUR2M From Poienaru’s Farming Business

Agrofarm Holding, one of the top ten agricultural producers on the Romanian market, will record a EUR23 million turnover this year, down 8% on 2011. The turnover decline is due to the drought that did away with the 3,700 hectares of rapeseed planted last autumn, while productivity for barley and wheat crops will be up to 30% lower, estimates Stefan Poienaru, who has been running the business for 17 years.
