Paint Maker Deutek Sees 2011 Sales Up 5% To EUR31.5M

Romanian paint and lacquer maker Deutek on Thursday said it plans to increase sales by at least 5% this year, to EUR31.5 million, based on a wider share on the domestic market and increased exports to Moldova and Ukraine.

In 2010, Deutek posted sales of EUR30 million, higher than EUR28.6 million in 2009.

Deutek is one of Romania's largest players on the paint and lacquer segment, competing against companies such as Fabryo Corporation, Policolor, Kober, Daw Benta Romania, Atlas Corporation, Druckfarben and Sarcom.

Deutek estimates the paint market will drop by 10% in the best-case scenario and by 20% in the worst-case scenario. In the past three years, the market fell 20% each year, so that it now reaches EUR130 million, compared with EUR230 million in 2008, Deutek also said.
