VAT Cut For All Foods Only Solution To Boost Consumption, Retailers And Producers Say

The VAT cut from 24% to 9% for bread has led to an increase of taxed production of flour and bread by 10% and 15%. Under the circumstances, retailers and production companies say that a VAT cut for other staple foods such as meat, vegetables and dairy could have a similar effect and could lead to an increase in consumption.
