eMAG Opens Service Company: First External Client Is Samsung’s Local Subsidiary

eMAG, the biggest IT&C retailer on the Romanian market, has turned its service department into an independent company, which it wholly owns, that will provide repair services for products sold by other companies, as well, Iulian Stanciu, the company's general manager, told ZF.

"We have decided to outsource the service department into a separate company, called ServSkills, which we fully own. The company's general manager is Adrian Antohi, former head of eMAG's service department," said Stanciu.

"We have thought we could outsource this department in order to cut costs and that we could also provide these services for the products sold by other players. We offer service for what eMAG sells and we have already signed a contract with Samsung, for almost the entire product range, apart from big home appliances," said Stanciu.

"The company was set up in 2010, it has been functioning since February and has 30 employees, nearly half of whom are service technicians," said Adrian Antohi.
