Industrial Prices +0.7% On Month, +6.5% On Year In April

Romania’s industrial producer price index inched up 0.7% in April from a month earlier, fueled by higher prices in manufacturing and energy, the country’s statistics institute INS said Friday.

Energy prices increased 1% on the month in April, while manufacturing prices were up 0.7%, the data showed. Mining prices edged down 0.5%, while prices in the utilities sector were stable on the month.

In annual terms, industrial prices rose 6.5% in April, boosted by higher prices in all sectors.

Prices in the utilities sector increased 28.9% in April from the year-earlier month, while manufacturing and mining prices rose by 6.9% and 3.9% on the year, respectively. Energy prices were up 3.5% in April compared with the same month of 2011.
