INS: Industrial New Orders Rise 6.7% On Month In January

Romanian industrial new orders rose 6.7% on the month in January, fueled by two-digit growth in the capital and consumer goods sectors, the statistics institute INS said Monday.

 

New orders in the capital goods sector increased 18.4% in January from the previous month, while orders for consumer goods were up 10%, the data showed. Demand for intermediate and durable goods declined 8.5% and 6.1% on the month, respectively.

In annual terms, Romanian industrial new orders fell 7.4% in January, due to a 22.8% decline in the intermediate goods sector.

New orders for durable goods rose 31.9% on the year in January, while orders in the consumer and capital goods sectors were up 8.2% and 1.1%, respectively.
