INS: Romania Industrial New Orders Fall 5.1% On Month In April

Romanian industrial new orders slid 5.1% on the month in April, due to declines in all sectors, the country’s statistics institute INS said Monday.

New orders in the consumer goods sector were down 16.8% in April from a month earlier, while orders in the durable consumer goods sector decreased by 13.1%, the data showed.

In the capital and intermediate goods sectors, new orders fell 4% and 2.7% on the month, respectively.

In annual terms, Romanian industrial new orders increased by 16.7% in April, fueled by increases in all sectors.

New orders in the capital goods sector rose 22.2% on the year in April, while orders in the intermediate and durable goods sectors were up 15.1% and 9.8%, respectively.

Orders in the consumer goods industry inched up 0.1% in April from the same month a year earlier.

In January to April, Romanian industrial new orders were up 24% on the year, again boosted by growth in all sectors.
