INS: Romania Unemployment Rate Inches Higher To 7.3% In May

Romania's unemployment rate inched up to 7.3% in May, from 7.1% in the previous month, seasonally adjusted data from the statistics institute INS showed Tuesday.

In May 2013, the jobless rate was 7.2%.

The number of unemployed people was estimated at 718,000 in May, from 702,000 in the month before. Male unemployment rate was 7.9%, while female unemployment reached 6.5%.

The figures are based on the definition recommended by the International Labor Organization (ILO).
