Romania Jobless Rate Slightly Up To 7.4% In April

Romania's unemployment rate rose slightly to 7.4% in April, from 7.2% a month earlier, seasonally adjusted data from the statistics institute INS showed Friday.

In April 2011, the jobless rate was 7.6%, the data showed.

The number of unemployed people was estimated at 720,000 in April, up from 716,000 in March. Male unemployment rate was 8%, while female unemployment reached 6.6%.

The figures are based on the definition recommended by the International Labor Organization.
