Romania's Industrial Output Rises At 8th Fastest Pace In EU In March

Romania’s industrial production rose 7% on the year in March, the eighth biggest increase in the European Union, official data showed Thursday.

The EU's average growth was 4.6% in March compared with the year-earlier month, EU's statistics office Eurostat said.

Industrial production rose in 14 member states for which data are available and fell in 6. The highest increases were registered in Estonia (+32.7%), Lithuania (+14.5%) and Sweden (+13.7%), and the largest decreases in Greece (-7.5%), Ireland (-5.4%) and Portugal (-2.4%).

In March compared with a month earlier, industrial production fell in 11 EU states and rose in 9.

The highest increases were registered in Estonia (+2.8%), Slovenia (+2.2%) and Luxembourg (+1.9%), and the largest decreases in Lithuania (-4.6%), Denmark (-1.7%) and Finland (-1.1%).

Romania's industrial output declined 0.8% on the month in March, while EU's average production was down 0.3%.
