Romania's Public Debt Rises To RON199B In March

Romania’s public debt rose to 198.9 billion lei (EUR48.3 billion) in March, from RON193.1 billion a month earlier, Finance Ministry data showed Wednesday.

End-March, the public debt reached 36.71% of the gross domestic product.

The public debt-to-GDP ratio was calculated using an estimated GDP of RON542.03 billion for 2011.

Government public debt was 94.22% of the total debt in March, while local authorities' debt accounted for 5.78%. (EUR1=RON4.1184)
