Romanian Manufacturing, Construction Sectors Seen Up In May-July

Romanian companies estimate manufacturing and construction activity will pick up in May to July, while retail and services will post only a modest growth, the statistics institute INS said in a survey Monday.

The polled managers said manufacturing and construction output will increase in the May-July period compared with the previous three months. However, prices in the sectors are expected to go up at a slower pace.

In the retail and services sectors, both production and prices are likely to grow moderately in May trough July.

Most of the companies expect employee numbers to remain stable during the interval, the survey showed.

INS interviewed 8,641 managers in manufacturing, constructions, retail and services sectors.
