VAT Revenue Up 17% In Jan-May

The value added tax revenue in the first five months of the year was 17% higher than in the year-earlier period, and the 3.5 billion lei (EUR779 million) surplus is enough to offset the decline in revenue caused by the VAT cut for foods and food service from 24% to 9% as of June 1.
