Boc: Unemployment Rate Fell To 5.41% In April

The number of jobless people in Romania was 493,438 in April, while the unemployment rate dropped to 5.41% from 5.92% in March, reaching the level recorded in January 2007, Prime Minister Emil Boc said Monday.

According to the minister, the unemployment rate continued to drop from the 8.39% reported in May, last year, when 765,825 people were registered as out of work.

Boc added that 10,600 vacant jobs are available this week.
