Interior Ministry To Reduce Investment Spending By RON300M In 2012

The Romanian Interior Ministry will reduce investment spending by over 300 million lei (EUR1=RON4.0869) in 2012 to RON487 million, from RON815 million this year, according to the ministry’s fiscal strategy for 2012-2014 obtained by MEDIAFAX.

According to the document, protecting the European Union's external borders, upgrading administrative spaces, training the institution's medical staff and modernizing communications and information networks represent some of the ministry's priorities in the next three years.

According to the document, investment spending will increase to about RON600 million by 2014.

The institution wants to cut utility spending by using alternative energy sources.

The ministry's budget is estimated at over RON7.5 billion in 2012, with RON487 million to be allotted to investment projects.
