Lucian Bute To Fight Jean-Paul Mendy In Bucharest To Defend IBF Title

Romanian boxer Lucian Bute will fight French Jean-Paul Mendy on July 9, in Bucharest, to defend his IBF super middleweight title, organizers told a news conference Friday.

Romanian Boxing Federation president Rudel Obreja said tickets for the event, which will take place at Romexpo, will be available starting next week.

Bute kept his IBF super middleweight title on March 20, knocking out Irish Brian Magee, at the Centre Bell in Montreal, Canada.
