Pension Reform Widens Pension Fund Gap By EUR1B. What Did The Reform Mean, Then?

The much-talked about pension reform is adding EUR1 billion to the pension fund gap. While last year, during discussions about the new pension law, officials maintained reform would mean adding another million taxpayers to the system, hence higher contributions to the fund to narrow the deficit, the same gap widened, in the first four months alone, by 1.6 billion lei (EUR380 million) against last year.
