The EUR10.3 million jackpot in the Romanian 6/49 lottery game was won Sunday evening by someone who bought a ticket in the western city of Arad for 26.5 lei (about EUR6), said the Romanian Lottery.

According to the company, this is the third biggest jackpot in the history of the Romanian Lottery. The biggest prize in the 6/49 lotto game, of EUR12.45 million, was grabbed in January 2008.

In the first quarter of the year, the Romanian Lottery awarded about 1,280,000 prizes amounting to over EUR42 million. (EUR1=RON4.0815)
