Registration Agents To Handle Company Setup, Closure - Draft Law

The registration, merger or closure of Romanian companies, as well as procedures to authorize self-employed people, will be carried out by registration agents, according to a draft law approved by the Government Wednesday.

The bill was sent to the Parliament to be debated with urgency.

According to the draft act, documents needed to set up a company or receive self-employment authorization will no longer have to be published in the Official Journal, but will be registered in an electronic platform. This measure will be implemented in at most two years, reads the bill.

Registration agents, operating within the National Trade Registry, will have the same rights as magistrates, but contestations regarding their activity will be tried in court.
