Romania To Cut Irrigation Water Prices, Compensate Farmers For Drought-Damaged Crops

The Romanian Government will reduce prices of irrigation water by 50 lei (EUR10.7)/1,000 cubic meters, will allot extra EUR25 million for irrigation projects and will compensate farmers whose 2012 crops have been damaged by drought, Prime Minister Victor Ponta said Tuesday.
